Alan Ayckbourn's Official Website was created in 2002 by Alan Ayckbourn's Archivist Simon Murgatroyd, who has been Alan Ayckbourn's Archivist since 2009. The website is the single most comprehensive resource dedicated to Alan Ayckbourn on the internet. The aim of the website is to provide a free, reliable and accurate resource dedicated to the entirety of Alan Ayckbourn's life in theatre emphasising his careers in playwriting and directing.
The website currently encompasses approximately 3,500 pages with material drawn from The Ayckbourn Archive at the University Of York, The Bob Watson Archive at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, private collections as well as original research. It is split into nine major sections with each of these having various sub-sections.
